Is Twitter a blog killer?

written by jedi on September 12th, 2009 @ 08:35 PM

Long time, no see.

Granted, this very blog hasn't been updated for ages.

How come?

Well, the main culprit is called... Twitter.

Twitting random crap on the spur of the moment is so much easier than writing blog articles that I didn't really feel like posting new articles here.

Incidentally, it looks like a lot of big twitters I'm following are also somehow slowing down the pace of their posts on their blog.

Is it just because Twitter is the shit, or because people are getting lazy?

Maybe both.

Twitter put an end to my blogging or at least made it less frequent and caused me to writer longer blogs and just use twitter for interesting stuff..

    twitter is good for links

an ideal blog engine would be one that permits twits and casual blog entries

I’d argue that Twitter actually makes for better blog posts. Think people tend to use blogging as an outlet of longer articles when you’ve got Twitter. Rather than spamming random short thoughts. The micro blogging format is on the other hand excellent for that kind of communication.
